Turkmen carpet

The Turkmen carpet is the most important symbol of the Turkmen tribes and is still woven over many years without much change in design and pattern. Turkmen carpets have different designs, each of which is named after its tribe. The Turkmen are one of the noble tribes living in the eastern part of the Caspian Sea. Currently, Turkmen ethnic groups live in the northeastern parts of Iran, including the Turkmen Sahara in Golestan province and the northern regions of Khorasan.
